Footloose coming to Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Sugar Loaf July 23 - 26.

FOOTLOOSE is a classic tale of teenage rebellion and repression and features a non-stop retro-view of the 80’s with music, dance, fashion, and great performances by some of the Hudson Valley’s most talented actors. Featured songs are Kenny Loggins’ FOOTLOOSE, Sammy Hagar’s THE GIRL GETS AROUND, Jim Steinman’s HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO, Eric Carmen’s ALMOST PARADISE, and so many more that have become standards for generations of “Big-Hair Band” music lovers world-wide.

Preston Pounds (Mark in SLPAC’s blockbuster RENT) stars as Ren McCormack, area favorite Glen Macken (A Few Good Men, All My Sons) is the uptight Reverend Moore, Just Off Broadway Inc. standout Cat Capolupo is his defiant daughter, Ariel, and the Hudson Valley’s own Mary Ellen Nelligar plays the minister’s wife, Vi Moore. The cast features some of the most outstanding talent from the Hudson Valley: M’Lanie Hunter as Ethel McCormack, Matt Michael as Chuck Cranford, Ted O’Dell as Principal Clark/Cowboy Bob, Eliza Benfer as Rusty, Jyliann Davis as Urleen Jo, Jana Kucera as Wendy Jo. The other people in Ren’s new world include Matthew Tenorio as Willard, Shawn Schorno as Bickle, Sam Conti as Jeter, Robert O’Leary as Lyle, Sean Sullivan as Travis, Melissa Taranea as Betty Blast, Hugh Mackay as Wes Warniker, Anthony Savino as Garvin, Amanda Baumler as Lulu Warniker, and Carol Beaugard as Eleanor Dunbar. The talented ensemble includes Briana Bene-Espinal, Jordon Lopez, Gabriella Lugo, Amy Knips, Kai M’Kenna, Jane Petruncola, Anya Starr Quinn, Brenda Schoenfeld, Alara Siegel, Arcadia Squires Sussman, and Shannon Wagner. Music Director Patrick R. Hoagland will be conducting; Jacob Barkman is the Production Stage Manager; Heidi Haskell is the Stage Manager; Hannah Blair and Jodi Davis are Costume Designers; Emily Beane Costa is the Lighting Designer; Dave Taylor  is the Sound Designer; Ed Romanoff is the Production Manager.
