Do You Have What it Takes to be a Successful Entrepreneur? The nonprofit Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) can help you find out now!  Please join us for our FREE Path to Entrepreneurship Program designed to introduce you to small business ownership. Learn about the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur and what it takes to run your own business.  Three sessions:

 August 9, 2016, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Th!nk Dutchess Alliance for Business

August 22, 2016 , 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Newburgh Free Library

September 6, 2016 , 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Middletown Thrall Library . 


For those who have a brilliant idea and want to turn it into a business or are trying to figure out how to take their business to the next level, WEDC has just the program to help you make money achieving your dreams.  WEDC’s Comprehensive 60+ Hour Entrepreneurial Training Program covers key topics such as legal business structures, business management skills, understanding financial statements, cash flow and budgeting, market research, social media and traditional marketing, technology for your business, business presentation skills. The course culminates with attendees writing a business plan and presenting to a small panel of representatives from the business community.  Attending the course is just the beginning of your journey. Part of our services include one on one “free” counseling as your business grows in order to provide resources and answers to your questions as well as additional resources to sustain the business into the future.  We also work together with area micro-lenders as financing resources for our graduates.

Join WEDC for our fall program beginning September 13, 2016 at SUNY Orange Newburgh Campus, One Washington Center, Newburgh, NY 12550. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 PM. This “mini MBA course for entrepreneurs” is primarily funded by New York State with a small $250 investment from attendees.

Since 1997, the nonprofit Women’s Enterprise Development Center Inc. has provided entrepreneurs with the skills, tools and resources they need to start their own businesses, to expand them and to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
