Spark Media Project’s 4th-annual “Reel Expressions International Youth Film Festival” returns to the Bardavon 1869 Opera House on Friday, November 4, 2016 and youth ages 21 and under have the opportunity to attend for free. During this increasingly popular event, festivalgoers will enjoy original short films of various genres created by teens, a brief awards ceremony to honor the top films, hands-on interactive animation stations (green screen fun, Virtual Reality demos, photo ops), and a Q&A with local young filmmakers.
“We invite youth to attend this international film fest for free each year, not just because we want to encourage and support an interest in media arts, but also because when youth discover what other young people just like them are capable of creating, it inspires them to want to do great things,” says Nicole Fenichel-Hewitt, Spark’s Executive Director. “Our goal is to make this incredible event as accessible as possible to all youth, no matter what financial circumstance a family or young person is experiencing.”
The festival features youth-produced films – narratives, animation, experimental and documentary – from youth both local and from around the world!
Admission is free for youth and young adults ages 21 and under who register at SparkMediaProject.org/ReelTickets.
