Cupcake Festival is Fun Mother's Day Destination

Bring Mom to Fishkill for some family-friendly fun on Sunday. In previous years vendor options included gluten free, vegan, mini cakes and a variety of traditional cupcakes from the best Hudson Valley bakeries.

On Sunday, May 8th from 1PM - 5PM K104 will be taking it to the streets in the Village of Fishkill to present the 5th annual cupcake festival. For the preceding eight weeks, on Friday mornings, the station has been hosting cupcake baker hopefuls in the studio live on the air. Contestants submitted cupcake creations to a panel of local celebrity judges including elected officials, past festival winners, Jonathan from Billy Joe's Ribworks and yours truly, Stefanie from HappyHudsonValley.com.

One baker was crowned first place after a tally of the votes at the end of the show each week. Semi-finalists will compete on the day of the festival for a grand $1,000 prize and a chance to have their cupcakes featured on the menu for one month.

The station announced they are expecting as many as 4,000 people this weekend in Fishkill. Main street will be closed to traffic to make room for cupcake vendors, craft proprietors, light shopping booths and children's activities. Local restaurants will be selling street fair cuisine.

You won't want to miss this! The Best Cupcake in the HUDSON VALLEY winner will be crowned, Finals begin at 3PM.

Sponsors of the K104 Cupcake Festival include Billy Joe's Ribworks, TEG Federal Credit Union, Erie Insurance, Finger Lakes School of Massage and K104.7.
