Boys and Girls Club Riding in Style Thanks to Donor

Newburgh, NY –The Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh received a donation of two 15-passenger buses from Visconti Bus Services to provide transportation for Club members. Thanks to the generosity of owner, Fred Visconti, hundreds of Newburgh youth will benefit from this donation.  Whether it’s a trip to volunteer at the local nursing home, teens visiting local colleges, an AAU basketball tournament or NPAA dancers attending a competition; the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh prides itself on the ability to provide Club members with unique opportunities to explore the world around them.

“The reason I decided to donate buses to this great organization is simple,” said Fred Visconti, “they outline and provide an important curriculum that is represented by skillful leadership that produces outstanding results.  The importance of both the public and local businesses joining forces to assist organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club is necessary and ultimately is such a rewarding investment in today's younger generation.  One day our amazing young people will succeed and flourish from this positive experience and will graciously give something back to the community.”

The goal of the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh is to make a difference in the lives of the children of Newburgh. This would not be possible without the support of the Newburgh community. It is because of generous donations like these that the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh is able to continue its mission and create opportunities for local youth.

“We are very thankful for the donation of two buses from Fred Visconti. Mr. Visconti’s gift will allow the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh to provide safe transportation for our children to and from the Club and to educational and cultural events throughout the region. Moreover, it demonstrates the impact a strong partnership between business and the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh can make in the lives of Newburgh youth,” said Kevin D. White, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh.

This year the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh will open its doors to over 2,000 youth and provide programming in education, arts and athletics. These programs include the Newburgh Performing Arts Academy where Club members can study the arts including dance, music, theater and visual arts, The Afterschool Project where members receive homework help, tutoring and academic instruction and Triple Play where youth can participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities.
