Love Thy Neighborhood

Care about the earth? Care about the community? In coordination with Earth Day 2016, details about Newburgh's annual community cleanup.

Saturday, April 23, the community will assemble in teams once more to show downtown Newburgh some love. The Safe Harbors of the Hudson annual cleanup event is a bright and beautiful day in Newburgh. In years past over one hundred volunteers have donated their time to the cause. Together with Taylor Recycling who have towed out thousands of pounds of roadside garbage, the efforts are a way of saying: we care.

In addition to the clean up and the lawn picnic that takes places afterwards, there will also be recycled art projects on display. The public will vote for their favorite among three dozen entries. Lydia Adams Davis will be there to entertain the kids with some environmentally charged singalong songs. Students from Nora Cronin Presentation Academy will also be on hand to accompany her.

Register at the Ritz at 8 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2016. Post-cleanup barbeque to follow.
