Did you feel that intense wind yesterday? It was the kind the carries a certain extraordinairy nanny into town on her black umbrella..
Newburgh Free Academy will present Mary Poppins this weekend. Complete with real airborne effects by Flying By Foy technical services (NBC's Peter Pan live).
On Friday, March 6, 2015, Newburgh Free Academy students, Camille Cappello and Salvatore Fratto, respectfully Mary Poppins and Bert in the spring musical, Disney and Cameron McKintosh's Mary Poppins, trained with Flying By Foy technicians for the upcoming production.
“The opportunity for our students to work with technicians from Flying By Foy offers them an unique opportunity to gain real world experience in the performing arts field. The ability to bring the characters to life by having them ‘fly’ during our live performance will engage the young and old. As part of the diverse curriculum offered at Newburgh Free Academy, our Fine and Performing Arts Department offers an array of opportunities for our students,” explained NFA Dance Teacher and Musical Director Mandy Clifford.
Performances will be held March 20-22, 2015, at the NFA Main Campus located on Fullerton Avenue in Newburgh.
