Shared Stories: Patriotic Reading Day at New Windsor School

New Windsor Elementary School proudly celebrated Memorial Day with its annual Patriotic Reading Day.  Students were treated to guest readers from the community including active duty military personnel, community members, and Newburgh Enlarged City School District personnel.

According to Principal Terry Lucas, military personnel share stories and information about their jobs in the military.  Students asked questions and engaged with the men and women of the armed forces in discussions of their duties. In addition, the school was beautifully decorated to remember all members of the military with flags, stars, stripes and ribbons.

Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education Member Philip Howard, along with other community and NECSD readers, visited students to commemorate Patriotic Reading Day.
