Winning Posters Announced in 'Life is an Adventure' Contest

The Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Orange County (ADAC) is proud to announce the Grand Prize Winners for the 28th Annual Countywide Substance Abuse Prevention Poster Contest! This year’s theme was “Life is an Adventure. Explore it Drug and Alcohol Free!”  Quinn Andrews, a 6th grader at Cornwall Central Middle School won the Grand Prize in the English Category and Allison Hanus, an 8th grader from West Point Middle School won in the Spanish Category.  Both young ladies were greeted by surprise at their respective schools by Allie Lerman and MaryAlice Presto, Poster Contest Coordinators, to announce their accomplishment. They will each be awarded a with $200 prize as well as having their artwork professionally printed on posters and distributed throughout Orange County.

Over 1,000 posters were submitted to our offices in Goshen in early February and the competition was extremely high! There are also first, second, and third place as well as honorable mention winners in four age categories, as well as a graphic design category.  A complete list of winners can be found on our website at
