A Beautiful Day for a Stroll in Majestic Park
Town of Gardiner held their Gardiner Day celebration on Saturday, September 14th 2013. It is second only to the cupcake festival that it a total town takeover surrounding Wright's Farm just outside the main thoroughfare. But, Saturday's festival was a marvelous town get-together featuring face painting, pygmy goats and Peruvian Horse show. Never heard of it? Neither had we. Cultural achievement award for the year goes to Gardiner for this one. Beautiful steeds trolloped the grasses of Majestic Park alongside a fair maiden doused in a royal gown. It was absolute poetry!
We don't know who's cuter...
Then we got to try out the locally developed Made with Love skin care line. I washed my hands in a sugar-citrus scrub that left me feeling invigorated. Love the ingenuity of our local Hudson Valley businesses.
There were pirates and treasure!...
And, troop 60389. These girls have climbed the ranks from Daisys to Brownies onto Juniors and Cadets. The New Paltz School District students are considered Senior girl scouts and were selling baked goods to help fund their end-the-year trip to Woodlock Pines. Shown above are Sara Lutz, Rebecca Mele, Jennie Mele, Amanda Mele, Hannah Benenati and Brittany Strauss. Not shown are troop leader Rose Lutz and her co-leader Janet Mele. Good luck girls!
The crowning jewel for me was this beautiful blanket stitched by Marie Reed from Tilson. A seamstress for 25 years, Marie attended a master class to learn the innuendos of what's new in the world of sewing machines and emerged a champion of stitch. Here she is shown with her masterpiece - a 2 month marvel.
Then we caught up with Palladium Science Academy showing the kids the fun in learning with awesome demos featuring chemical reactions and more!
Enjoy the fall, Hudson Valley! So much to see and do.. check our community calendar for details on upcoming events!
