Chamber Celebrates Women in Business Month
Great events planned all month long.
In its third annual observance of June as Women in Business Month, the Orange County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a number of events that promote and/or educate women in business. The events are coordinated by the Chamber’s Minority and Women Business Committee and M&T Bank is the title sponsor for the entire month.
On Thursday, June 11, Dr. Julieta Ross, Chief Technology Officer for M&T Bank and one of the original developers of Bluetooth technology, will be the guest speaker at the Chamber’s monthly membership breakfast. The breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. at West Hills Country Club in Middletown. ($25 for members in advance and $50 for non-members.)
“Friday Night Pampering for Women on the Go” will be held on June 12 at Tredora Salon & Spa on Route 17K in Newburgh. A presentation by Caron Hadge, a financial advisor for New York Life, will start the evening at 5:00 p.m. with simple tips on how to manage personal finances. From 6:00-7:00 p.m., a professional makeup artist will provide make-up tips for professional women. At 7:00 p.m., Laura Dimino, owner of Tredora, will give hairstyle tips, and at 7:30, there will be a presentation on how to make simple, tasty meals using just two ingredients. (Admission is free.)
On Tuesday, June 16 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at Pamela’s Traveling Feast on the Hudson in Newburgh, Hadge will again make a presentation about personal finances, followed by a mixer with Pamela’s hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, networking and prizes. (Admission is free.)
Women in Business Month will conclude with the Chamber’s annual Women in Business Golf Outing on Tuesday, June 23 at Winding Hills Golf Course in Montgomery. Registration will start at 9:00 a.m., with a shotgun start at 10:15. Women who don’t play golf can enroll in a golf school taught by a Hudson Valley golf pro at the same time the players are on the course. A buffet lunch and awards presentation for all will start at 1:00 p.m. ($125 per person.)
