How To Pick A Wedding Photographer

I have crossed paths with a lot of photographers in my travels. I have developed an eye for a frame and am sensitive to the angle a photographer chooses to focus his subject. Us women have our hesitations about what is featured (get my good side!) and to which split second moment is chosen in order to capture and convey us at our VERY best. If ever there were a day to catch us at our best, it's wedding! There are a lot of talented photographers in the Hudson Valley, both freelance and street level state of the art studios. In any case, it boils down to the artist behind the lens. It requires a connection and an understanding and an incredibly capable individual who will get it just right.

For me that company is NP Pro Media out of Monticello. Nuby and Matt are friends in networking, yes. And, I have thumbed through their albums with joy. But mostly it is the give-back that they provide to their community that has me sold on using them on my very special day. I cross paths with ND at many of the events I cover for HHV. They have donated services to the following organizations doing incredible work to benefit the community at large:

  • Safe Homes - One Billion Rising
  • Independent Living - Event Photography
  • American Diabetes Associatio
  1.   - Expo
  2.   -Tour De Cure
  3. March of Dimes
  •  March for Babies - Photo Booth at the Walk
  • Orange County Chamber of Commerce - video
  • Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce - video and photo

And, now they have established a fund through the Community Foundation that will benefit March of Dimes.

Monticello, NY – The ND Pro Media Community Give Back Program Fund has been established within the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan as a project to raise funds for local charities in the Hudson Valley. This year, ND Pro Media has set a goal to raise over $25,000 for March of Dimes with The Faeries for Babies 2015 Charity Calendar.

About The Faeries for Babies 2015 Charity Calendar:

The Faeries for Babies Calendar Contest is broken down into 3 phases: portrait session, online voting and calendar sales. A $25 donation to the ND Pro Media Community Give Back Program Fund entitles donors to a FREE Magical Faerie Experience Portrait Session and a FREE Limited Edition 8 x 10 print. All contestants are entered into an online voting contest, during which votes may be recruited. Votes are $1 per vote and the number of votes is unlimited.  The top 13 children with the most votes will be featured in the first annual Faeries for Babies Charity Calendar. 100% of proceeds from all three phases of the fundraising program will be donated to the March of Dimes. AND that is how I picked a wedding photographer. There is no one I would rather have to share in my special day then ND Pro. In a twist of fate is also happens that the youngest guest who will attend the wedding is the groom's 2-year-old niece who was born 20 weeks early and weighed just 1 pound, 3 ounces. Emmajo, now happy and healthy and developing on schedule, will be our guest of honor and it will be a beautiful tie-in to know that our photography company understands and supports a good cause like March of Dimes.
