Celebrity Inspired 'ArtFull Living Show House' is the Tour of the Season

Cold Spring, NY: Fireworks lit up the sky on Wednesday like the wave of a flag at Nascar signifying the start of a very eventful summer. There is art, music, food and fun in store for all of us - but behind the scenes of our Great American Weekends and Art Along the Hudson and Shakepeare in the park there is a ton of collaboration, planning and innovation going in to pulling it off.

Barbara Galazzo knows it well. She is a professional glass artist from Cold Spring who recently took on a designer home project that pulled together a thousand pieces of art, glass, furniture and delicate touches in an MTV Cribs-esque complete overhaul of one of the luxury townhouses at Glassbury Court.

sweet dreams!

It's called the ArtFull Living Show House and it showcases the independent works of over 30 artists and designers from Saugerties, Peekskill, Rockland, Newburgh, Cold Spring and Beacon. Their elaborate art pieces and interior design prowess are on display throughout the house - each room seasoned to taste with the collaboration of the contributing creatives. Each room more magnificent than the last...

The designers have each chosen a theme dedicated to a celebrity. Every intricate detail of the room was hand picked by a concept specialist and set in place by a Hudson Valley artisan.

For instance, this room features Barbara's glass work on the ceiling. ^

Magical Tree House by Nicole Ashey inspired by Elle Fanning

The cross-pollination of interior design mixed with an edge of artfulness is a winning moment for the contributors and the visiting public. What can't be conveyed through the photos (although they are incredibly well done) is the full effect of textures and color schemes enhanced by intricacies tacked on by the artists ..example : in this room a gold glaze can be seen over top of the wood paneling...it plays beautifully with the natural light in the room.

Designer Nicole Ashey from the Burlock design services is excited to be making new acquaintances at the house and sharing work with other talented professionals in her industry.

"The exciting aspect of this...is the connection being made between artists and designers...people I should know."
