Darkside Records and Gallery 5 Year Anniversary Party Jan. 16th
On January 16th, 2015 independent music store Darkside Records and Gallery will celebrate it’s five year anniversary, and will open the doors to its new home at 611 Dutchess Turnpike in Poughkeepsie with a ‘Grand Re-Opening’ celebration that will include sales, live music, and a giveaway to raise money for Sparrows Nest!
Opening its doors in January 2009, Darkside Records is a member of CIMS (Coalition of Independent Music Stores) and has been a hudson valley staple in the heart of the Poughkeepsie, NY specializing in the sale of vinyl records, cds, dvds, turntables and gifts, as well as winning 2015 Best of the Hudson Valley. January 16th Darkside Records’ presents the ‘Grand Re-Opening’ which celebrates Darkside Records’ five year anniversary with the move to the new location!
Our new location at 611 Dutchess Turnpike (aka Route 44, just after the 44/55 split) in Poughkeepsie will include an expanded 6,000 sq ft sales floor, a new hi-fi/stereo room, an expanded inventory and a live music stage for touring and local acts and events.
The ‘Grand Re-Opening’ will include an in-store sale, live music, giveaways and more. Live music will include performances from Home Lives, Sound of a Smirk,Dead Empires, Kyle & The Pity Party, Mike Hamel, Cold Hands, and more; a complete live music schedule will be available on darksiderecordsandgallery.com. The celebration will also serve as an opportunity to donate to Sparrow's Nest, a local non-profit charity. Visitors participate in a raffle for great prizes with all proceeds going directly to the charity or make cash.
