Hot Chocolate with a View at Bear Mountain State Park

The fun-for-all resources made available to Hudson Valley residents due to geography alone are astounding. From the Shawangunk Mountains with their world renowned trails and waterfalls to the mystical Hudson River and it's water sports draw all the way into the hills of Sullivan County and the Bethel Woods historical site, possibilities are endless! Even in the winter time, there is fun to be had. Even though we've been lucking out with a mild season and little to no accumulating snow fall (Rock Salt on sale!) there is a place where the ice freezes! Consider the Skating Rink at Bear Mountain State Park.

Fun for the whole family!

The historically rugged terrain at Bear Mountain State Park  rises up from the west bank of the Hudson River in the Palisades region of the lower Hudson Valley. The park features a variety of recreational uses including trails, fields, picnic tables and more. The Gross family Poses after their Ice Skating Session

The outdoor rink is open to ice skaters from late October through mid-March. The Perkins Memorial Tower atop Bear Mountain affords spectacular views of the park, the Hudson Highlands and Harriman State Park. Perkins Memorial Drive and Tower are open from April through late November, weather permitting. The carousel at the pavillion
