Music Lovers Unite for an All-Ages Record Convention at Railroad Playhouse
Holly Berchielli is back in the summer mix with a musical deluge that is age inclusive. Holly is the publisher of the quarterly music magazine OUTSIDER a freely distributed alternative music publication that is normally punchy with the sound of trash punk Americana, and also a local fan favorite with party rockers in the Hudson Valley. On tap at the CD & Record Convention everything from crooner cross-over pop from the 50's straight through to the underground hip-hop of the 90's. Stylistically, expect everything from acoustic performances to a DJ spinning in between sets.
The first annual Newburgh record convention is happening July 14th, 2012 from 11am till 7pm with re-entry wristbands so you can make a day of it! Come and go as you please making great use of the Pizza Shop, the Hudson River Views and the Liberty St scene. Kids 13 and under are free* at this event and gen admission tickets are $4 ($3 with flier shared here)

On the schedule : low-Key music performances that have been deemed kid-friendly throughout the day with appearances by Malcolm Tent and Shamplant -plus 13 music vendors including Poughkeepsie's own Darkside Records - and a collection of Holly's friends and OUTSIDER fans pulled from record conventions across state lines. The day should prove to be a blissful convening of rare vinyl, CD, DVD and Cassette recordings.
The convention will set the stage for some well-loved bands, but also in an act of giving back will serve as a fundraiser for the Playhouse - door money will go directly to the organization to help them fund future projects.
Malcolm Tent is scheduled to Perform
As always with the Playhouse, food will be available all day directly across the hall at the Pizza Shop - a full Italian/American menu, beer, wine with id, and soft drinks. There is great parking and the Railroad Playhouse is a really nice spacious, fully air conditioned performing arts theater. We hope to see you all there. Invite your friends!
*All children under the age of 13 will be allowed in for FREE with a parent or guardian.
