So... Cosmo Says You're Fat

I know everyone is upset about this photo on "mytinysecrets.com" (not responsible for content on their site) but my initial reaction is that she's beautiful and who cares if they're calling her "plus size" or not. Be comfortable in your own skin, define beauty on your own terms. Robyn Lawley does. She is single handedly fighting the "thigh gap" and unrealistic body images by calling these trends painful and unrealistic.

That's why even though the share is admirable, it's missing the point. The empowerment stance Robyn has taken is changing the way beauty is perceived. She's quoted as saying, "I want my thighs to be bigger and stronger. I want to run faster and swim longer. I suppose we all just want different things, but women have enough pressure as it is without the added burden of achieving a thigh gap."

The woman behind the mytinysecrets blog has questionable credentials and seems to be vying for attention so that she can reveal the secrets of health and healing through her site. She says in her about me that she's researching the secrets of the earth from Bali. I think that sounds like a great job that most people can't afford to have. She plucked this "plus size" controversy from Cosmo's twitter which inappropriately deems the beautiful model as such which got an overwhelming response from the public! But, realistically it seems like this is all a huge cry for attention with all parts guilty.

The fact that we look at this beautiful woman with all of her glorious curves and put her on the cover and celebrate her beauty is a step in an awesome direction for mainstream media. Robyn Lawley is beyond sexy, and women are celebrating her. I think that's a win.

"Let go and accept who you are."
