Street Performances Showcase Student Talent

Newburgh Enlarged City School District students recently helped the Newburgh community kickoff Winterfest, a buy local initiative (we posted about in Nov/Dec) set forth by the Newburgh Business Professionals Association.  The event took place on Small Business Saturday and included various school performing groups demonstrating their talents for the shoppers up and down Broadway.

The NFA Madrigals began caroling at B's Auto Parts and then moved to Commodore Chocolatier; the NFA Ritzettes made their debut under the Ritz Theatre marque after entertaining patrons of The Wherehouse Restaurant; the NFA carolers sang in front of the Cornerstone Residence; Heritage Middle School Band members played in front of Don Fernando Restaurant and NFA N strings played at Commodore as well.

The NECSD Fine and Performing Arts Department was invited to work with Tiombe Carter and the NBPA to include students within the community events that will be promoting local small businesses throughout the year.
