Veteran Services Group Has Outing at West Point

Newburgh, NY - In recognition of Veterans Day, the attorneys and employees of Finkelstein & Partners, LLP paid tribute to the nation's veterans by celebrating the success of the firm's Veterans Services Group. The week started with a veterans law symposium in Albany and culminated with a firm outing to a West Point football game for employees and Veterans Services Group volunteers. Committed to meeting the needs of veterans, Finkelstein & Partners, one of New York State's largest personal injury law firms, established the Veterans Services Group to assist veterans struggling with issues related to injuries and benefits.

Founded in 2008, Finkelstein & Partners' Veterans Services Group (VSG) is dedicated to ensuring that veterans receive the benefits they have earned and deserve. Comprised of a team of veterans advocates which includes accredited attorneys, many of whom are veterans themselves or family members of veterans, the VSG represents veterans seeking VA benefits for current medical conditions caused by their military service.

Since its inception, the VSG has helped veterans and their families obtain more than $4.3 million in benefits, with nearly $1.6 million in benefits won this year alone.

"Cheering on the Black Knights at West Point was certainly a fun way for our employees to support our veterans and their families," said Nancy Morgan, firm partner, who established the Veterans Support Group in 2008. "But, it also served as an important reminder that serving our country can come with many challenges for both individuals and their families. That's why at Finkelstein & Partners we strive to support our veterans in meaningful ways every day."

The firm handles VA service-connection claims related to combat wounds, PTSD, TBI, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), toxin (such as Agent Orange) and environmental exposures, and other service-related medical problems. Finkelstein & Partners is able to handle all of a veteran's legal needs, including estate work and Social Security disability claims. Veteran discounts are available for wills and estate planning.
