Who's Hiring in the Hudson Valley?
Hudson Valley Help Wanted job fair was the place to be on Wednesday, October 7th. Hiring agencies and companies from across the region were in attendance doing information sessions and reaching across the table to shake the hands of potential hires. Some candidates were so impressive that there were same-day on-the-spot interviews taking place. HHV was there taking names and numbers for everyone who couldn't make it. If you're job-seeking, just remember that doors sometimes open in unexpected ways.

Here's Help Staffing and Ethan Allen Workforce Solutions were both on the scene. Tara Defreese from Ethan Allen was giving out tips on how to stand out in the hiring process. "Dress professionally," she said. "Make sure the resume reflects the job you're after and that the dates are correct." I didn't know this but Ethan Allen Workforce Solutions does not charge potential hires. Shout out to recent college grads. It's an easy way to start networking yourself and your skill set.

Fuat Bagsever and Claudette Aldebot from New York Life
New York LIFE - Fuat Bagsever started working at NY Life when he was 22. Now, he's recruiting talented entrepreneur types to take under his wing through the rigorous 3-year-training program. His success, he says, was based on 50 - 60 hours a week of grinding hard work. Bagsever is a success story. He now supervises incoming talent and swears by the company he works for. "Your personal vision of where you want to be will drive your career," he told me. He also says no personal network is necessary, he didn't have one. He invites you to come and get started in a rewarding career with New York Life. There is a training allowance and you get to keep your clients. New York life, he told me, sells safety and guarantees. Wondering if your contacts will want to buy in? Client accounts start at $15 - $20 a month (or the price of two of venti pumpkin spice lattes). Contact Fuat.
I'm not sure what openings are still available, but the time to apply is now! PLUS Orange County Chamber of Commerce just announced they are accepting applications for the Director of Membership position. Check that out Here. Apply by October 16th.
Other companies at the job fair: HVFCU, National Guard, Crystal Run Healthcare, Mohonk Mountain House, Verizon, ARC, Polo, Shoprite, Bonura Hospitality, Walmart and more.
As always, you should be frequenting Hudson Valley Help Wanted for a list of openings based on location, job title and career field. Long name, amazing results.
